"Time-piece 2032"
This is a work from an ongoing series dealing with the passing of, and the effects of time. Here I'm working with how even that which once measured time, an old discarded clock can wear away in time, enveloped by tree roots. The bowl I made years ago, buried in the earth for awhile, let it season before excavating it. It has a Basket Maker period pattern yet using the automobile as a motif.

Salome Waters says...

This is so STRONG!

The strapping is bone and the ligaments (?) holding the joint together. Mind blowing.

And underneath the quiet bowl, holds it handles like the quiet sky holds the earth.

This is wonderful Richard.

Rachel Smith Hubele says...

It reminds me of all the many times dad and I would find old, abandoned houses and look through their old trash piles.
