This is (or may be) the final in a series of works that are about the rematriation of Inzhuje Waxobe (Sacred Red Rock) to the Kanza people. This experience has had such a profound effect on me and my sense of community. This work features Derr Woman centering themselves and sitting on a bed of healing cedar boughs. The abstract imagery in the background is actually a contemporary map rendering of the confluence of the Kansas river and Shunganunga creek, outside of present-day Topeka. This is where Inzhuje Waxobe had lived for millennia before being uprooted and moved to Lawrence KS. The rectangle represents the grandfather rock and is surrounded by universal ribbon work designs and copper (Another healing element). The blue circle is the blue moon that occurred on the day when Grandfather came home.
