Four Corners Arts Forum: Bekah Kolbe, Gallery Manager of the Blue Rain Gallery in Durango talks about the gallery’s first invitational group exhibition called “Southwest Remix” highlighting the work of emerging local and regional artists.
In this episode I speak with Bekah Kolbe, Gallery Manager for Blue Rain Gallery in Durango. We talk about the exciting exhibit that she has recently curated called “Southwest Remix”. This is the gallery’s first invitational group exhibition bringing together thirteen dynamic emerging local and regional artists whose work reimagines Southwestern identity and the culture through fresh perspectives. Bekah comes with years of experience in gallery management and supporting and encouraging the development of artists’ careers through the Durango Creative District’s “Incubator for Emerging Artists” program which she founded. Blue rain Gallery was originally established in 1993 in Santa Fe by Leroy Garcia and expanded into Durango in 2023, deepening it’s connection with the Four Corners arts community. The show “Southwest Remix” begins on Friday November 7 with an opening reception from 5-8pm that evening during Gallery Walk and runs through November 26.
